How can Christians and the Church be winsome, engaging and welcoming through how we live out our faith among those who do not know Christ? How can we help our neighbors, co-workers and friends catch a beautiful vision of life in Christ and His Church?

When asked about church, Americans have some common words they use to describe the Church and Christians today: boring, judgmental, negative, political, racially insensitive and out of touch (Barna Research results, 2018 Edition). As Christians, our immediate reaction is often to get angry and defensive when we hear church and Christians described this way. A better question to ask ourselves might be, “Why is it that so many people do not see the beauty, the good and the winsome qualities of the Christian life? Could it be the kind of witness we offer?”

Become Who You Are
Matthew 5:13-16
March 4, 2018

Jesus says it twice, as followers of Christ, you are salt and you are light. So become who you are! The challenge is to truly become who we are in the real world. How can we spread our influence for good by doing good and living Christ-centered lives?

Bridges
Philippians 2:1-16
March 11, 2018

We are encouraged by Paul, in regards to our relationships, to build bridges and not walls. Because we are followers of Christ we are called to be like-minded, having the same love, being one in spirit and of one mind as Jesus. We are to value others above ourselves and connect with them so they may grow in faith instead putting up road blocks to keep them out.

Your Life on Display
1 Peter 2:11-12
March 18, 2018

Peter challenges Christians, living in a world that does not understand and often does not like them, to live  such good lives so that they will glorify God. This is a life that speaks by serving, loving and giving. We may be underdogs but that just makes us work harder and do our very best to honor God and serve others.
