Are you tired of languishing in nominal devotion to Christ and His Church?  Are you willing and ready to move to the next level in your faith and devotion to Jesus and His Kingdom?  If so, the R12 Challenge is for you.

After spending 11 chapters in some of the most remarkable and magnificent theology found in all of scripture, we then arrive at Romans 12 where Paul says that word, the one we need to sit up and pay attention to, “Therefore.”  When that word appears it is time to brace yourself for a challenge and Paul, inspired by the Holy Spirit, issues that challenge in Romans 12.

Reading through the first 11 chapters of Romans is an amazing journey – here are a few of the things we discover, or are reminded of, in the first 11 chapters:

We rejoice to know that the gospel is the power of God that brings salvation to everyone who believes (Rom. 1:16). We learn of the power of the gospel, the scope of the gospel, the heart of the gospel, and the glory of the gospel (Rom. 1:16-17). We discover that all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God and sinners can be redeemed freely by the grace found in Jesus Christ (Rom. 3:23-24). We delight to learn that those who respond to God are justified by faith, not by law keeping (Rom. 3:28). We rejoice that at just the right time, when we had no power, Christ died for us to save us, even though we were sinners (Rom. 5:6-8).  We celebrate that in our baptism we are baptized into Christ’s death and raised with Christ to live a new life (Rom. 6:3-4). We celebrate that sinners are saved by grace through faith, a gracious gift from Christ Jesus.  We rejoice that in Christ there is no condemnation and believers have the Holy Spirit to lead, encourage, spur, and strengthen us in our journey with God and that in all things God works for the good of those who love him (Rom. 8:1, 14-16, 26-28). We rejoice that nothing can separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord (Rom. 8:37-39). We learn that God in his righteousness is no respecter of persons and that all are invited to relationship with God through Christ Jesus (Romans 10:10-13).

What an incredible masterpiece Paul has painted in the first 11 chapters but now what?  Do we just sit and gaze at its beauty?  Do we spend all our time arguing over the points where we disagree in our interpretation?  Do we pat ourselves on the back that we are now “learned theologians?”

But Paul says “therefore” and issues the R12 Challenge. Romans 12 is filled with clear challenges that stir us to move our relationship with Jesus and his church and our neighbors to a deeper and more devoted place.

Will you accept the challenge?  Join us this Fall for the R12 Challenge and take your life in Christ to the next level.
