Our Mentor Moms:
Jeanette Beighle

Jeanette married her husband, John, in 1990. They raised three children and now have two grandsons. Jeanette worked as an administrative assistant in her early years of marriage until the birth of her 2nd child and then became a stay-at-home mom. In 2007, she went back to work outside of the home as a Special Ed. Aide, but after four years decided her time would be better spent at home. One of the most challenging times for Jeanette was when the older two kids were still pretty young and John was working two jobs and going to school full time. Jeanette did a lot of solo parenting and managing the home. As hard and stressful  as that time was, it was also some of their best years together as a family. Jeanette also made time to go for a run or long walk every day to manage her stress. She enjoys baking, cooking for fun, time with family, and loves to watch baseball. Her favorite scripture is Isaiah 43:1-2.

Trena Benson
Trena met her husband, Randy, in high school and they married soon after, in 1976. They raised three daughters and now have five grandchildren. When the girls were young, Trena finished her business degree. She worked many years in marketing management for DuPont, in the powder coatings industry. She spent her final working years as the Executive Director of the Powder Coating Institute, the industry trade association. Managing a household and working full time was a real challenge but they always took the time to attend marriage seminars and classes on relationships to try to keep their marriage in the forefront. Now happily retired from workplace stress, Trena enjoys managing her own schedule and spending time with friends and family. Her favorite scripture is Proverbs 3:5-6.

LuAnne Criswell
LuAnne married her husband, Jack, in 1989 and together they raised 4 children. She is retired from a career in the Oil & Gas Industry in the Financial & Personnel departments. Her biggest struggle while raising kids was being a single mom, a working mom, and then blending a family when she and Jack got married. She took breaks by doing needlepoint and watching Survivor and Amazing Race. Her biggest joy in raising her kids was snuggling in bed and reading with them. Now, she enjoys spending time with her 7 grandchildren, gardening and needlepoint. Her favorite things to do with her children and grandchildren is going to the beach with them. Her favorite ice cream flavor is chocolate (but rarely eats ice cream), her favorite scripture is Psalm 46:10, and her favorite season is summer.

Donna Gullo
Donna married her husband, Tony, in 1981 and together they raised 3 children. She was a stay at home mom and did some Accounting work. Her biggest struggle while raising kids was fatigue and staying consistent with discipline. She took breaks by going to the dollar theater with a friend and watching Friends. Her biggest joy in raising her kids was their precious hearts. Now, she enjoys spending time with her 7 grandchildren, reading and doing puzzles. Her favorite things to do with her children and grandchildren is playing games. Her favorite ice cream flavor is sweet cream, her favorite scripture is Philippians 4:13, and her favorite season is winter.
Sandy Phillips
Sandy married her husband, David, in 1979 and together they raised 2 children. She was a Secondary English & Business Teacher. Her biggest struggle while raising kids was juggling everything – she often felt like a juggler with glass balls in the air. She took breaks by going to get her nails done with friends, having date nights with David, and watching Blue Bloods and NCIS. Her biggest joy in raising her kids was watching them be successful in things that were important to them. Now, she enjoys spending time with her 4 grandchildren, reading and spending time in the pool, lake, ocean or river. Her favorite things to do with her children and grandchildren is traveling and watching/talking football with them. Her favorite ice cream flavor is cookie dough, her favorite scripture is Psalm 46:10, and her favorite season is winter.

Malinda Reynolds
Malinda married her husband, Herb, in 1979 and together they raised 2 daughters. She is retired from a 35 year career with Chevron in the Energy Industry. Her biggest struggle was balancing being a wife and mother with a demanding career. She took breaks by changing up the routine with trips, vacations and sending her kids off to Grandma Camp and enjoyed watching Seinfeld and Law and Order. Her biggest joy in raising her children was simply watching them grow, learn and accomplish. Now she enjoys crafting, sewing, and spending time with her 2 grandchildren. Her favorite things to do with her family is take vacations and celebrate holidays and birthdays. Her favorite ice cream flavor is chocolate, her favorite scriptures are Philippians 4:13 & Romans 8:28, and her favorite season is spring.

Shirley Turner
Shirley married her husband, September 30, 1977, and together raised three children. She was able to be a stay at home mom for several years before becoming an Administrative Assistant at Montgomery Junior High. When raising her children she sought wisdom from seasoned women and attended conferences and ladies Bible classes. She and her husband also found time to invest in their marriage by attending marriage seminars and making time for each other. Her biggest joys came when all three children enjoyed one another and got along. Now she enjoys her 7 grandchildren, 4 boys and 3 girls. Her life is full! Her favorite ice cream is Blue Bell Chocolate Cookie Dough, favorite season is Fall and favorite scripture is Psalms 46:10.
