Church Closure Update

As news regarding COVID-19 continues to change daily and even hourly, our Coronavirus Response Team is diligently and continually developing our course of action to protect our church family.

On March 16, our County Judge urged all groups (including churches) to cancel upcoming events of 50 people or more and our Nation’s President recommended to have no gatherings exceeding 10 people.

With our church’s vision at the forefront of our decision making, to love God and love others as Jesus commands us in Matthew 22:37-39, we have decided that all services, events and activities at Conroe Church of Christ will continue to be cancelled through Wednesday, April 13. Our Sunday service will continue to be to be streamed at 10 a.m.

We believe that the most important thing we can do to love our neighbors is to not contribute to the spread of this disease. As things change, our Coronavirus Response Team we will update our plans and keep you informed.

Go virtual:
Here are all our links and online avenues in which you can connect with us.

  • Give. We want to keep our church financially healthy enough to respond to the needs that arise in our membership. Those needs are likely to be much greater in the days ahead. You can give online here -OR- you can mail your check to Conroe Church of Christ, Attn: Herb Reynolds, 1860 Longmire Road, Conroe, TX 77304.

What you can do through April 13:

  • Pray. Prayer has been a big focus within our church as we continue our journey together for spiritual renewal in ourselves, our church and our community. With this new pandemic let’s join in on the 1900 Hours Call to Prayer. It’s a prayer campaign calling people to take a moment to pray, every evening at 1900 hours (which is 7:00 p.m.), for God to bring an end to the crisis. The time of 1900 hours has been chosen as a simple link to the ‘19’ in COVID-19, and because most families will be able to gather at that time to take a moment to pray. There is power in prayer and imagine how powerful it can be when the whole world is saying a prayer at the same time each day.
  • Limit Office Exposure. All access to the church facility through the use of fobs have been disabled. If you need to come by the office for some reason, please enter through the office entrance. The office hours will continue like normal, but our staff will be on a rotation. Limited staff will be present in the office to answer calls and take care of ministry needs. All other staff not present in the office will be working remotely and available by phone call, text or email.
  • Keep us informed. Please let us know how you are doing. We will do our best to stay in touch with you. If you need anything please contact your Life Group leader, an Elder, a Deacon, a Minister, a staff member, or call the church office (936-756-8988).
  • Lay Low. Remember, the point of these restrictions is to make sure the virus doesn’t spread so fast that it overwhelms our medical system (as it is currently doing in Europe). Love your neighbors by helping stop the spread.
  • Check on someone every day. Your phone call to someone (a church member, a neighbor, a friend) may be their lifeline in this time of isolation. Ask if they need anything. Share resources if you are able. Tomorrow call someone else. Check on someone new each day.
