Share the Vision Capital Campaign
God continues to bless our efforts to acquire and pay for a new church campus. The dream and journey for a new church building began to crystallize for Conroe Church of Christ in 2000. After obtaining suitable property, an initial kick-off stewardship campaign, Building for our Future, was implemented in the fall of 2004. A memorable ground-breaking and land dedication service was conducted on October 8, 2006. Then a 3-year follow-up debt reduction campaign, Share the Vision, was initiated in late 2008. These stewardship campaigns were conducted following extensive congregational participation in Bible studies, devotionals, messaging on stewardship, and fervent prayer. Our special supplemental Share the Vision effort conducted in November of 2010 raised an additional $50,000 in commitments and one-time gifts as we began our last year of this campaign. Both campaign endeavors have been extremely successful, and by God’s grace and the repeated generosity of our church, 75% of our building debt has been eliminated.
Our remaining mortgage balance of just under $2M, with God’s help, has been secured with a recently revised fixed rate loan that gives our church leaders great comfort regarding the predictability of monthly mortgage payments, and protection from the threat of rising interest rates in an extremely unpredictable financial climate. Our current monthly payment will allow us to pay all mortgage debt within 6 to 7 years provided all commitments are honored. Additional new giving by our Church members will shorten our debt obligation timeframe, and will allow us to begin planning for additional classrooms and all else our growing church needs to serve God and minister to people more effectively.
